Submit Your First Shareowner Proposal

If you have held $2,000 of stock in a corporation for one year, you can submit a shareowner proposal to be included in that corporation’s proxy materials and voted on at its annual meeting. Submitting your own proposals will change your outlook on investing from one of talking to brokers to one of talking to boards. It is empowering and can make a difference at the corporations you own.

To get you started, we have a mentoring program that will pair you with an experienced shareowner activist who will walk you through the process of submitting, defending and presenting your first proposal.

Mentoring is free for members, and you can receive guidance entirely by phone and e-mail. The deadline for submitting proposals is November at most corporations. If you would like to participate, send us an e-mail in early October at contact@proxyexchange.org, and we will get you started.

Your proposal will be voted on at the corporation's annual meeting.
